Statistics: Russia’s metals output shrinks by 2.4% in October

MOSCOW, Nov 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s combined production of metals and metals products shrank by 2.4% on the year in October, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Wednesday.

In January–October, the metals output gained 0.1%, the service said.

The production of cast iron went down by 9.2% on the year to 4.22 million tonnes in October, while the output of unalloyed steel fell by 16% to 4.47 million tonnes, of alloyed steel by 0.7% to 1.27 million tonnes, of hot-rolled metals by 16.5% to 1.55 million tonnes, and of long-steel products by 6.3% to 1.40 million tonnes, while the output of primary aluminum increased by 26%.

In January–October, the output of cast iron went down by 3.5% on the year to 43.05 million tonnes, of unalloyed steel by 9.6% to 46.83 million tonnes, of hot rolled metals by 10.4% to 15.32 million tonnes, and of long steel products by 2.6%, while production of alloyed steel increased by 4.6% to 13.27 million tonnes, and of primary aluminum by 16.5%.
